Gintare Surblyte

Gintarė joined the MIPLC in June 2011 as Program Director. In addition to providing academic support to MIPLC students, she conducts research in the field of competition law with a specific focus on the interface of competition and intellectual property law.

Gintarė studied law at Vilnius University in Lithuania and also holds an LL.M. degree which she obtained from Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich in 2007. During her LL.M. studies Gintarė was a DAAD scholarship holder. In July 2011 she finished her Ph.D. studies at Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich, supported by the scholarship from the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition. In her doctoral thesis, supervised by Professor Drexl, Gintarė dealt with the topic of a refusal to disclose trade secrets as an abuse of market dominance based on the analysis of the European Microsoft case. The book was published in November 2011 as volume 28 of the Munich Series on European and International Competition Law.
